MODERN MEETS GOTHIC

MODERN MEETS GOTHIC

Choosing an ultra-contemporary kitchen for a gothic building seems like an unlikely pairing. For architect Martin and partner Helen, who have spent the past two years converting a North Yorkshire church into a home, it was a marriage made in heaven.

The strong sleek lines of the Infinity Plus Milano Ultra works brilliantly with the dramatic architecture. Island and base units are in Bianco gloss and framed by a bank of tower units in Pencil satin. Keeping to the simple yet stunning colour palette is a sparkling Xena Quartz worktop in Aspen Ice that reflects light from the church’s magnificent windows.

The result is a stylish yet warm and welcoming space that Martin and Helen use for entertaining and working - where friends and family love to congregate.

Why Wren?

"We chose Wren after visiting the Leeds showroom because of the size and the number of different finishes it has on display.

"We needed to see the colours and Wren had all the options for us to look at.

"Our designer was very helpful and indulged our fastidiousness over every detail, explains Martin.

Top Tip

Martin: "We were very impressed with the prices Wren gave us for the integrated appliances. We checked against high street prices but Wren came out significantly cheaper so we went ahead and bought Neff appliances through Wren - two ovens, hob and dishwasher and they are just superb."
