Show your True Colours

As the heart of the home, your kitchen is often the busiest room. Use colour to create a fun and welcoming hub.  The choice of colour in a room plays a huge part in affecting mood and emotions. The size of your kitchen will certainly be a deciding factor when it comes to colour scheme- smaller spaces look bigger in light colours, and larger, well-lit rooms can handle dark cabinets and walls. But as well as size, think about how you want the kitchen to feel. Warm colours such as reds and yellows will energise, while cool colours such as blues and green will calm and soothe.

Whether you want to go bold with cabinets, try some colour blocking, or inject splashes of colour, there’s something for everyone and plenty of opportunities to get creative. Try adding colour to areas that can easily be updated. By mirroring the colour palette of the other rooms in your home, or picking our accent colours, the flow of the home and overall mood will be enhanced.

Make a statement

Feeling bold? Many doors in Wren’s Infinity Plus collection can be painted in just about any colour you like, with Spectrum. Softer versions of energising brights are popular right now. So, if you fancy a touch of pink, think about Dusty Rose or Blush- two of the top colours for 2024- to bring joy to your kitchen while making it feel warm and welcoming. Continuing the pink colour palette, dark Bordeaux is a new colour finish and on-trend this season, as is Heather.

Darker yellow browns such as Wren’s new Cinnamon and Toffee are also set to be colours of 2024. Versatile and understated, these warm rustic tones can be used in a variety of ways to create cosy, inviting spaces. Choose light worktops such as Quartz in Arctic Starburst to lift the room or go dark and add drama and elegance.

Pick your favourite colour and commit to it on the cabinet doors to make a statement or build up the colour gradually with accessories. Bright, colourful bar stools or appliances can. Transform a neutral kitchen.

Hit the jackpot

Warm and glamorous, a touch of gold here and there can brighten up a space. A little goes a long way, so there’s no need to make big changes or burst the budget.

Gold is versatile and complements a range of styles, both modern and traditional eye-catching gold taps which can look classic or ornate as well as sleek and contemporary.

If your kitchen is from the Milano range, choosing a gold profile can provide a flash of light and work with lots of dark dramatic colours, or pair it with classic white to add interest, warmth, and depth.

Block it

Minimalist white creates a crisp, light space, and injects a block of colour on a couple of cabinet doors, or an island, to bring a sense of fun and energy to a modern white kitchen. Think about bright, patterned tiles, which will also introduce an extra element of texture. Wallpaper is also a great option that can be updated relatively easily, especially if it is used on just one wall or in small pockets of space. Adding a splash of colour can also accentuate different aspects of your kitchen design.

Colour can be used to create a focal point, such as a standalone display cabinet or kitchen island. Adding a localised statement colour to your kitchen is one of the easiest ways to incorporate vibrancy and fun into space.

Down to earth

Including areas of natural wood in your kitchen will instantly create a warm, homely atmosphere. Timber worktops work well in modern traditional kitchens, complementing a range of styles. They are a natural fit with the Shaker ranges, but they work equally well as accent pieces in the Milano range.

If you want to opt for a two-tone colour scheme, then choose a bold colour for your base or tower units and wood-effect Elements or Woodgrain for your wall units or island. It will create a natural ambience that opens to spaces too.
