Winter Warmers

Whether you’re looking for a new party favorite or a comforting winter warmer, now is an ideal time to take your drinks game to the next level

Winter lemonade with mandarin and mint

Ingredients

  • 1.4 fl. oz gin
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1.7 fl. oz hot water
  • 1 tsp honey or sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Add the lemon juice, sugar and water to a saucepan and gently heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Crush the mint leaves with a mortar and pestle or by pressing with the back of a spoon.
  3. Once cooled, stir in the mint and mandarin juice into the base liquid.
  4. Dilute with water to taste.
  5. Serve over ice for a refreshing mocktail.

Hot gin toddy

Ingredients

  • 1.4 fl. oz. gin
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1.7 fl. oz hot water
  • 1 tsp honey or sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. 1 cup of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  2. 1/2 cup of freshley-squeezed mandarin juice
  3. 1 cup water (plus additional to taste)
  4. 1 cup caster sugar (to taste)
  5. 8 fresh mint leaves

Cranberry martini

Ingredients

  • 2 fl. oz. vodka
  • 1 fl. oz orange liquor
  • 2 fl. oz. cranberry juice
  • 2 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • Ice

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, orange liquor, cranberry juice and lemon/lime juice.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and shaker until combined and chilled.
  3. Strain and pour into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon or lime twist.
  4. Optional: Decorate the martini glass by running a lemon wedge around he rim and then dip into fine sugar.
