Wren's Statement

We ensure safeguarding legislation and guidance are adhered to and considered when developing and updating policies, procedures, and associated arrangements.

We make sure that our apprenticeship team have been trained and are fully aware of their responsibilities relating to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. All new staff receive safeguarding training as part of their induction. It is a condition of employment that all apprenticeship staff are trained to a level appropriate to their Safeguarding responsibilities.

Wren provides a safe physical environment for all its learners and staff, ensuring that all premises are of a good standard. Health & Safety arrangements are in place to ensure adherence to current legislation and guidance.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children, young and vulnerable people from abuse and maltreatment, preventing harm, health, or development.

Is safeguarding my responsibility?

Yes, Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Anyone who encounters children, young and vulnerable people have a role to play. We ensure that our apprenticeship team have been trained and are fully aware of their responsibilities relating to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Does safeguarding just apply to children?

No, it is for young people and adults. Wren Kitchens is committed to the safeguarding of all its learners, staff, and visitors.

What do I do if I have a concern?

If you ever feel unsafe during your learning, please make sure that you tell someone. Go to your Safeguarding lead or officer for advice to ensure this is recorded and the correct action is taken.
