After a long day scoring goals on the pitch, former England and Everton footballer Toni Duggan needs a tranquil space to come home to. Knowing she could trust Wren to create her vision, she asked us to design her dream kitchen, a place to relax and recharge.
She knew she wanted a monochrome colour palette and a contemporary finish, so she chose our Milano Contour Ermine kitchen in the striking Nero Matt. The combination of Milano cabinetry, marble floor tiles and crisp white walls created a modern kitchen that radiated sophistication.
Framing the cabinetry are Nero profiles and glittering Xena Quartz in a Bellagio finish, the ideal combination for attaining a minimalist look. The quartz countertops are juxtaposed against the black cabinetry, forming a dramatic contrast.
Having an open-plan layout has provided Toni with sufficient space for a sizeable central island, complete with modern appliances and a sociable seating area. A Zanussi gas hob and AEG downdraft extractor have been seamlessly integrated into the island, with the seating area in full view, enabling Toni to both cook and interact at the same time. The Viceroy integrated wine cooler has been thoughtfully placed within the island, granting guests easy access to drinks.
Originally designed to serve as a bar, the separate bank of cabinetry in the sofa area is now being repurposed to store baby Luella's toys and equipment, thus transforming it into a multifunctional space.
Tower units contain two integrated AEG ovens, providing her with ample room for batch preparing her post-game meals. Utilizing the extra space in the corner of the kitchen, Toni decided to install an integrated AEG washing machine, which will likely prove to be a great asset now that their daughter, Luella, has arrived.
