A kitchen that makes waves
When Calum and Gabrielle went into their local Wren Kitchens showroom they had a challenge for kitchen designer James Ware: a modern kitchen complete with a full range of creature comforts - to be installed on a wide beam canal boat.
The new kitchen was part of a larger renovation of the boat which Calum was project managing. The couple had a clear vision for their finished boat and were looking for an industrial kitchen to complement the overall aesthetic.
After speaking with James, the couple opted for a Milano Elements kitchen. The handleless design of the Milano units is a great way of saving space when it’s at a premium and the sleek lines of the modern design work for their vision. However, it was the finish provided by the Metallic Night Elements texture which really made it the perfect choice for the boat - proudly named 2 Crew and a Cockapoo after its inhabitants.

Why Wren?
"There were a few companies we went to and they were a bit blasé. Wren was the one that gave us a lot of enthusiasm about the project and were also quite excited when they knew it was for a boat. We felt like Wren Kitchens went the extra mile for us," says Calum.
Gabrielle: "From a design perspective, they were above everyone else!"
Top Tip
"Wren’s delivery team takes the hassle away from you. They check each individual box themselves. We saw them scan it so there was no need to double check the order yourself. They were checking for damages as well.
"I’ve had a few companies in the past where they’re tapping their foot, waiting for you to sign the documents and you’re trying to see if everything’s there so it just makes it a lot easier," explains Calum.
