Wren Kitchens continues to be recognised for its industry leading delivery service by being shortlisted for three prestigious awards.
This week the number one kitchen retailer – which delivers 2,000 kitchens a week 99.5% on time and in full – has been announced as a finalist for the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) awards in three categories:
- Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Supply Chain Innovation
- Operations Excellence
Wren is up against three finalists for each award including of Rolls Royce, Clipper Logistics and BigChange.
Wren Kitchens Head of Transport Operations, Lee Holmes, said: “We’re proud to be shortlisted for not one but three awards, as industry professionals have recognised our innovative distribution service as market-leading and efficient.
“Customers are always at the heart of our operations which is why we have invested substantially in communications and safety innovations. Not forgetting of course, it’s the little things that really make a difference such as pre-delivery checks and wearing shoe covers when entering customers’ homes.”
Wren has a fleet of over 180 lorries which travel over 155,000 miles each week to customers’ homes across the UK from six depots located in Howden, Barton, Bristol, Stansted, Larkhall and now Manchester. The retailer is reducing CO2 emissions with the introduction of three new transport depots this year to minimise road miles and various efficiency methods including the success of its triple trunked vehicles.
Wren’s transport trophy cabinet continues to expand as they’ve recently won the Operational Excellence Award at the Motor Transport Awards and the Silver Award at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
The CILT award winners will be announced on Thursday, 17th October at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
