Wren Kitchens Shines as Yorkshire’s Best Business

The UK’s number one kitchen retailer, Wren Kitchens, has been recognised for its strong business growth and for truly valuing and rewarding its employees at the recent Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards.

The glitzy ceremony held at Emerald Stadium Headingly in Leeds, saw Wren as one of the biggest achievers in the region winning Companies Turning Over £50m and Outstanding Employer awards.

Founded and operating in the Yorkshire region, Wren has risen rapidly through the ranks with the recent announcement of a new £120 million manufacturing facility employing a further 1,200.

Its headquarters at Barton-upon-Humber sees 1,800 Wren family members take advantage of first-class facilities such as a free gym, subsidised restaurants, scenic lake walks and unrivalled training and progression opportunities.

Managing Director of Wren Kitchens, Mark Pullan, said: “Our rapid growth and development is down to substantial reinvestment in key areas of the business, but most importantly the key to our success is our strong, ambitious team ensuring we continue to be industry leaders in our field.”

2018 was a strong year for the business with a 20.7% increase in turnover, but not at the expense of the gross margin which increased by 26.4%. Wren continues to increase its presence in the retail market, with 13 showrooms opening across the UK this year and many more planned for 2020.

Technology plays a key role in the growth and development of Wren and it has heavily invested in its bespoke IT systems including planning software used to design kitchens and virtual reality which helps bring kitchens to life in 3D via a headset.

Wren Kitchens founded in 2009 employs 5,168 across its manufacturing facilities, retail showrooms and at its headquarters in Barton-upon-Humber. It designs, manufactures and delivers over 2,000 affordable luxury kitchens every single week.
