For the first time friends and family of Wren Kitchens employees enjoyed an exclusive Open Day and gained behind-the-scenes access of the busy operations at the number one kitchen retailer’s headquarters, manufacturing and transport facilities.
Over 700 attendees were treated to an action-packed day on Saturday (13th September) at its idyllic headquarters, The Nest, in Barton-upon-Humber. They enjoyed cookery demonstrations by AEG, Wren’s virtual reality kitchens, a fly through tour of the extensive manufacturing facilities and plenty of fun and games including laser tag and dodge ball.
To top it all off nearly £1,000 was raised which will be split between two charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Mind.
“Many people are unaware of the scale of our operations, so the open day was a great way to showcase this to close friends and family, so they too can gain an understanding of the Wren way,” said Wren Kitchens Manufacturing and Logistics Director, Raf Klimek.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all the 40 volunteers that made the day a success as well as all those who attended and made it an enjoyable day to remember!”
Wren Kitchens Property Manager, Liam Knaggs, attended the day with his partner Emily and son Henry, 21 months old. He said: “It was great to show my family where I work – especially the little one, as he had a fun time whilst learning about what my job entails.”
Wren Kitchens Head of Communications, Tom Goulden, attended with his wife April. He said: “It was an incredible experience and eye opening for my wife as she gained a real understanding as to why I have such a passion for Wren!”

It expertly designs and manufactures kitchens in its Yorkshire and Lincolnshire factories, delivers them in its fleet of over 180 lorries and are then installed by its award-wining team. This means they cut out the middleman and they can offer kitchens for less than companies like B&Q, Wickes and Magnet.
