The world-class Wren Kitchens IT team celebrates the graduation of its first eight employees successfully passing the IT Academy programme.
As the UK’s number one kitchen retailer continues to rapidly expand, new technology is at the heart of its success and it will be recruiting 100 new graduates next year into its tech team based in Barton-upon-Humber.
“The academy has really built the fundamental foundations for me and I hope to build upon them as I learn more and more from my mentors.”
“I’ve been working on various exciting projects including developing 2D and 3D design for the kitchen planner. If you work hard, you’re rewarded for it and Wren recognises that.”
Emilio Beard, 24, from Hull, feels lucky to have been given the opportunity. He said: “I’ve improved throughout the journey and since I passed the academy, I feel like I have a real sense of job security.
“I didn’t realise how important IT is to Wren and it’s great to be part of such an exciting and expanding team.”
To support its rapid retail showroom expansion across the UK, Wren will almost double its IT capacity over the next year to ensure it’s at the forefront of the industry with innovative software and technology.
“This is a real milestone moment for our tech team as we celebrate the success of our hardworking graduates and our mentors which have strengthened their skills with real hands-on training,” concluded Wren Kitchens IT Director, Craig Douglas.
“Each and every single member of the IT team is vital to us, as their skills and expertise builds upon the future of Wren’s success.”
There are over 1,800 people based at Wren’s headquarters working in various roles including customer services, marketing, manufacturing, HR, finance and property.
