How does the tool simplify the initial planning stage?
Our new tool focuses on the initial planning stage of choosing a new kitchen, helping you to decide upon a design and style. The tool provides you with a standard kitchen layout so that users can then start experimenting with a variety of colours, styles and accessories, such as worktops, handles, flooring and tiles, without the hassle of having to take any actual kitchen measurements.

    The ergonmics and space layout are the most important thing in my view. Once that has been planned then it’s the fun bit of chosing the style, materials and colours. I would always recommend paying particlar attention to the lighting. It can make a huge difference to the mood of the spaces.

    I would say personality and practicality are important. A lot of time is spent in the kitchen, so its nice for it to feel like a part of you, as well as have the ability to be efficient at what its meant to do.

    Practicality is key. It needs to work in the best possible way for the space I’ve got and provide clever storage. If I can achieve this and it looks fabulous too, that’s a bonus.

    Although style should be taken into consideration I think the most important aspect of designing should be practicality..There is no point in having a beautiful kitchen if it doesn’t work for you

    Space, where you have it and where you give it up – gives the whole flow the right feeling. Colour if I had to pick between the two though… (colour will date very quickly too)

    I really think the space is the most important – it doesn’t matter how pretty it is, if it annoys you every time you make the tea, you won’t want to be in there anyway!!

    Colour & style are both important & trying to get it right so that it will look in keeping with new styles with small tweaks as a kitchen can so quickly look out of date. I should know mine is definitely ‘vintage’.that’s being kind.

    I think it should be a timeless look. I’ve seen so many kitchens when searching for a new house to buy and a lot of them look so old fashioned (when I bet they looked brilliant in their day!). Out-of-date kitchens do put me off houses when I go for viewings.

    The style is most important for me, neutral shades, as these won’t date. Adding colour with accessories. Granite worktops – money was tight when we had our kitchen and I compromised on a cheap option – and it has scratched in one place.

    I think the layout is the most important – the triangle of sink, cooker and fridge around the working area – an island preferably if you have the space!

    It’s gor to be functionality – it doesn’t matter how pretty it is, if the layout isn’t practical, then it isn’t going to work.

    The style and layout is the most important to me as hopefully you will have the kitchen for a long time to come. As much as colour is very important you also have to think long term where fashions go in and out of style. Choose something that hopefully won’t date in 2 years time.
