Oh My Gourd… It’s Pumpkin Spiced Hot Chocolate

Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spiced Latte has been haunting our high streets every Halloween for as long as we can remember. So today we decided to give this well-known recipes a bit of a revamp.

Not only can you whip up a mug of this delicious treat from the comfort of your own kitchen, unlike Starbuck’s PSL, this killer pick-me-up is made using real pumpkin.

Pumpkin Spiced Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

Makes 2 servings

500 ml. Almond milk

2 Tbsp. Pumpkin Puree (homemade is best, but canned works, too)

2 Tbsp. Maple syrup

1 Tbsp. Cacao

1 Tsp. Cinnamon

Method

  1. Gently warm your pureed pumpkin on a low heat, stirring regularly.
  2. In a separate pan start heating the almond milk and add the cacao powder.
  3. Add the cinnamon to the pumpkin puree and then pour the mixture into the almond milk and gently stir.
  4. Sweeten as desired with the maple syrup and continue to heat for another few minutes until ready to serve.
