Hollyoaks Star Kieron Richardson Reveals his Swanky Kitchen Makeover Ready for Christmas!

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson and his husband Carl Hyland reveal how their showstopping, ultra-modern kitchen was specially designed for entertaining friends, family and their two twins.

The Manchester-based couple have completely transformed their L-shaped kitchen space with a “dream” white island and floor to ceiling metallic slate tower units, all designed and made by Wren Kitchens.

Kieron describes his new Autograph Elements and Milano Contour kitchen as “incredible” and it boasts a feature mirror wall, secret walk-in pantry, Neff’s famous slide and hide oven and a party-ready wine cooler.

“I’ve always wanted a kitchen island,” gushes the excited 36-year-old actor. “For us, especially with having the children now, storage, storage, storage is the main thing!

“In our old kitchen there wasn’t much space. With having kids, you want to bake and get creative, so that’s what we can use the island for now!

“We’ve still got eyes on the kids if we’re eating breakfast at the island and they’re playing in the room.”

The practical yet stunning design features profile lighting to enhance the easy-to-clean luxury laminate worktops in industrial inspired washed concrete and titanium shades.

At the envy of his friends and family, Keiron laughs: “When we show people our kitchen, they all say they want one!

“We watched Gogglebox and saw Rylan’s kitchen and thought “oh that’s really fancy and really nice” and we found out it was a Wren kitchen.

“We went for the off-white seafoam colour. We could have gone for the high gloss white, but we thought it would look too clean and too white – we’re so pleased we didn’t as it looks incredible!

“The doors and drawers are wipeable. Trust me, 3-year-olds, crayons and drawing on things… it happens, and I don’t have to stress myself out because you can simply wipe it clean.”

The creative brain behind the couple’s jaw-dropping design is Darren Watts, Wren Kitchens Showroom Development and Design Director.

He says:“Kieron and Carl had a real vision to create a contemporary yet practical space, and it was a pleasure working with them to bring their dream design to life.

“The focal point of their kitchen has to be their stunning Milano island, and when combined with textured, metallic slate tower units it creates a breathtaking look. To ensure the sleek style continues throughout, we’ve added tonnes of hidden storage and integrated appliances.”
