Creative Christmas Tablescapes to Impress your Guests

Christmas is the time to get creative so why not have fun with your table décor and impress your guests and family! If you’re hosting a quiet get together, a dinner party or Christmas Day dinner, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get hands on.

We’ve pulled together this year’s on-trend tablescapes which are easy to follow with a little bit of preparation the day before…

The relaxed look: clementine & grey

If you’re a grey lover and want to continue with the theme this Christmas, then this is the perfect table decor for you. Simple, rustic and smells good too simply purchase a crate of sweet clementine’s or oranges and scatter them on the table.

For an on trend frayed napkin, choose a material that has suitable fibres to fray easily such as linen. Simply grab some grey material measure, cut and stitch a line across the edges leaving a gap to fray the material with a seam ripper or needle.

Add a little bit of nature to your cutlery by adding twine and some foliage to it. To complete the look, pop on a rustic tablecloth or leave bare.

Rocking tradition: berry reds

Christmas is the time of year to upkeep traditions, so why not keep the theme running with your table decor? Reds and greens are naturally a firm family favourite.

Place your fave red baubles and Christmas tree decks in the centre line of your table, along with candles (battery powered in you’re worried about little ones!) and berry foliage.

A black tablecloth will make the colour palette pop!

The rustic look: foraged decor

Bring the outside in this festive season and forage with your family for pinecones, holly and berries. Don’t forget to add dried out oranges and lemons for a touch of colour.

Barely their battery powered fairy lights add an understated glow by nestling it amongst the greens.

Don’t forget to add name card holders to your table by either using a pinecone or even a bauble.

Glam it up: frosty whites

If your style is all about sparkle, then look no further! This icy white theme is perfect for a glamorous black-tie Christmas dinner.

For the plate setting, layer your placemats and add glittery decorations sticking to the colour theme. Don’t forget to tie your cutlery with a piece of pretty ribbon.

If you want to go even further, add faux snow and glitter on your tablecloth (because the kids will love it!), or if you want to contain the mess, make a snow globe in a large glass candle holder.

Scandi statement: fir centrepiece

If you’re the minimalistic kind, then keep your tablescape to a minimum and create a focal centrepiece. Bring berries and fauna inside and create a circular wreath.

To keep the greenery together, use florist wire and an oasis or if you don’t have one to hand carefully bend a wire coat hanger.

Don’t forget to brighten it up with Nordic style candles and mini festive ornaments.
