Keeping your bedroom cool and fresh is important all year round.

The days are getting cooler, and although it may feel tempting to cosy up, shut yourself off from the world and begin your hibernation, good airflow in your bedroom is crucial for a good night’s sleep as well as keeping it odour-free.

Follow our three top tips on how to keep your lair lovely and your lungs lucky.

1. Clear your clutter

Leaving things lying around (especially clothes!) puts the dust and debris you collect throughout the day back into your bedroom’s airflow. Keeping things neatly folded or hung in your drawers and wardrobes will help to keep your bedroom dust-free.

Check out a few of our favourite storage solutions to tackle this, and chat with your Wren Designer for more information.

Drawers, dividers and trays

Simple yet effective, these space-saving drawers and baskets are great for keeping everything neat, tidy, and always accessible.

Trouser rails and shoe racks

Rails are a great way to hang signature pieces, look after your workwear and plan outfits for the week ahead. Or make switching your work shoes for your slippers the most satisfying part of the day with a stylish and space-saving shoe rack.

2. Open up

It’s a good idea to open windows and doors for air circulation in your bedroom, even in the colder months. This allows fresh air to flow in, replacing stale, contaminated air and reducing pollutants and moisture that can lead to mould growth.

Good ventilation also regulates humidity levels and creates a more comfortable sleeping space, so by opening those windows, you can improve your respiratory health and reduce the risk of airborne illnesses.

It is getting a tad nippy though… if you don’t appreciate a chilly room, we recommend opening windows in the morning when you wake up, and shutting them again an hour or so before bed

3. Plant power

Never underestimate the power of a plant! Houseplants not only help maintain clean air in your bedroom by absorbing CO2 and releasing oxygen, but many plants also remove harmful toxins from the air, acting as natural air purifiers.

The presence of a plant can increase humidity levels and reduce airborne dust and allergens, leading to better sleep and health. Our favourite air-purifying plants include Peace Lilies, Anthuriums and Golden Pothos.
